i'm not one for believing in the two party system, and am skeptical at best that if the democrats win the mid-term elections it will make any immediate significant political change, but i am still semi-mortified at how much of an asshole and an idiot john kerry is

yeah, but this is the kind of crap the 'GOP' PR machine has relied on for the past 4 or 5 years. he might as well be on the campaign trail for them. WE know he doesn't mean it and most people we know are smart enough to put it into context and even realize that the 'accidental' statement about people in the military being stupid is also true anyways... but he should have tread more carefully, is what i'm saying. there's too much at stake. like i said, as cynical as i am about the whole system, i really do want the democratic party to regain control of the house of representatives and hopefully the senate, it would be very good for us domestically in terms of social programs and good for US influence and respectability internationally also. it's a very important issue and there couldn't have been a worse time for kerry to make a blunder like that.

When I fist saw this I assumed that he was talking about Bush, looks like he could have just phrased it better.
