Jack is leaving Korea within a month. His school is running into financial trouble and they had to lay him off. He's thrilled about it - he's been ready to go home for at least a month, but his contract ran until March. Already went, and i don't want to spend the ridiculous cost of airfare to go somewhere by myself for a few days.

Hmmm. That's a tough one. Korea is sort of grim at that time of year with no friends. Not as grim as it used to be back in the day, though. They do up the lights and all that more than any other place I've ever seen.

Closer to the holidays, you should talk to one of the expat bars about organizing an orphan christmas party. Ive been to an orphan thanksgiving dinner before when i couldn't afford to fly home and it was actually a total blast and a lot better than moping alone at home.
