It's bizarre how much one's life can change in the course of a few minutes.

After bitching that the surgery to repair my eye socket was probably unnecessary, I went under the knife anyway. Apparently there was indeed a 1.5 inch fracture in the well of my right socket (thanks boot) and my eye tissue was already deforming (ramifications thereof? unknown) to fit my new shape.
