Vampire Knight Manga series ends + K-dramas
Anyone else follow this series? I used to follow it, and have kept reading it on and off. The end just came out, I guess? It was...different. I'm really not sure what to think of it?
1) I disliked Kaname pushing Yuuki and Zero together. Even though I like those two together. I also didn't understand their ending. I think Yuuki died to bring Kaname back to ife as a human (and those may have been Yuuki and Zero's kids standing there when Kaname gets up? I was confused? But they mention a mother, and "other-father"), but I couldn't tell what happened to Zero. I often had this problem with Vampire Knights (and could never tell if it was the writing or the translations) where it was hard to understand what was happening. Exposition can be a pain, but a needed one, especially when there is so much world-building. This series rarely gave explinations and always referred to everything by pronouns. "It," "she," "him." The results were very much "Who does what now?"
2) I'm not sure Kaname becoming the furnace's heart made a lot of sense in conjunction with his other plans about killing all the purebloods or waking up Yuuki as a vampire, but whatever. It emotionally made some sense, I guess.
3) Why did Yuuki's weapon dissolve but Zero's Bloody Rose work marvelously Also- the whole fighting factions thing really made the theme of "can people and vampries live in harmony" thing get thrown by the wayside. Am I the only one who finds the ending is the status quo a little strange. Especially since we got what was essentially an epilogue talking about several hundred years. Yuuki, Zero, and all the Night Class weren't able to eventually help the situation or something? Or what the ability to make vampires human the solution (but, if that one vampire made a formula to make someone human, why did Yuuki have to die?)
I wonder what this mangaka's next series will be about?
In other fannish news- I'm getting a bit into K-dramas, specifically My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (also My Girlfriend is a nine-tailed fox). On the off-chance, thought I'd ask- Anyone know where some good fanfiction for the series could be found?
