So sweet :) I don't ship Neji/Tenten any longer, but I do friend!ship them a lot, as this story made me realise. I really enjoyed Tenten's sense of humour and not-so-subtle ways of broaching matters.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've never shipped the two (partly because I felt, romantic or not, Neji was far to focussed on Hinata to notice much of anybody else, and partly because I have a complex backstory for Tenten that is completely unsubstantiated by canon but that can't be shook), but I really like them as friends. Team Gai in general is surprisingly fun to write; very little angst.

oh wow. that was deep and i really enjoyed neji's confusion. i like how the context of their conversation is always present, and it's so easy to think that they are talking about two different things that mean a lot to each of them personally. really great.

I liked this line especially: “Hinata, she’s your future, right?” - because she is. The exams marked a moment in Neji's life where his core motivation was disrupted and he needs to find a path forward, and the path of least bitterness, of finding meaning in his past suffering and working to prevent others from having that, lies with her (and him and healing their clan).

You put it so well for how I see these two and their future! (despite recent manga goings-ons)

Thank you for reading too :D It always means a lot to see you like my new stuff.
