WELLER'S HALLUCINATIONS

*sees something on the ceiling that isn't there- unsure what

*sees a tram station as it would look on a normal day, they all look at him. he looks away and then someone is right behind them- then they all disappear.
I can feel them... all around...
*sees Captain Matthius in the captains chair with the syringe in his eyeball.
You better hurry! Or Weller's gonna kick your ass!
*she's crouched on the floor "Nate... help me, please!"
Nate... don't leave me.
You're going kill us all, soldier. We're going to die, and it will all be your fault!

TIME LINE
for ease of reading, events revealed in the dead space comic will be written in green while extraction events will be in blue with events from downfall in orange. events that are not depicted in either but are spoken about will just be in plain text.
most of the events in downfall are, mostly, non-canon. many things in the movie contradict things that happen in other mediums or text/audio logs found throughout games. think of it as a very general idea of what happened to Vincent's team if anything.

-Aegis VII is founded as a mining colony for resources. THIS IS ILLEGAL. The entire zone has been marked off by the government because, shockingly, the government knows what's hiding on Aegis VII.
2507
-Miners on Aegis VII are alerted that the planet will get cracked. They have yet to assign a planetcracker to the job though.
2 MONTHS PRIOR TO DEAD SPACE
-the Red Marker is "discovered." However, it's later revealed that the government and higher members of Unitology knew it was there all along, and decided to run an "experiment" with Aegis VII- which is why they OK'd a colony being put there.
-The Colony Manager- Hanford Carthusia- informs the CEC and the heads of Unitology of their "discovery". This prompts them to send the USG Ishimura to retrieve the Marker under the guise of performing the planetcrack.
-The colonists on Aegis VII start to lose sleep. The loss of sleep causes them to be more irritable and production in the colony starts to go down.
~4 WEEKS PRIOR TO DEAD SPACE
-Insomnia is increasingly common on Aegis VII. More people are converting to Unitology. The Marker is still being guarded but people go outside to stand near it and pray.
-Dr. Tom Sciarello is held hostage by a deranged miner, Sergeant Abraham Neumann and Detective Vera Cortez show up to negotiate. They manage to save the Doctor but his secretary is killed in the scuffle. It's the first murder recorded on Aegis VII.
~2 WEEKS PRIOR TO DEAD SPACE
-The Red Marker is removed from its original location and brought inside Aegis VII for later transport to the USG Ishimura.
-When the Red Marker is moved, it seems it sends a jolt through some people [Neumann gets a sharp pain in his head, but it goes away quickly] but otherwise does nothing. At the same time in Union Square, 50 Unitologist members perform a mass suicide with Detective Cortez being one of those people.
-An engineer [probably Sam, Lexine's boyfriend] goes insane, killing many of his coworkers before McNeill and his men show up to put him down.
~1 WEEK PRIOR TO DEAD SPACE
-The USG Ishimura arrives on-site, command of the colony turns over to Captain Benjamin Matthius
-Matthius contacts Carthusia, both devout Unitologists, and demands he turn over not only the Red Marker but the bodies of all who had died in the Union Square suicides. Carthusia agrees readily until Matthius reveals that he intends to cut all ties with the colony afterward, not wanting any of the deranged people on his ship. Carthusia, in a moment of bitterness, tells Matthius that if he wants anything from him he'd best get it himself.
-Matthius issues a strict no-fly order between Aegis VII and the USG Ishimura. Despite this, they manage to bring the Red Marker aboard. Some personnel on the Ishimura begin to suffer from mild hallucinations
2 DAYS PRIOR TO DEAD SPACE
-The USG Ishimura begins the planetcrack
-Weller and his team arrive on Aegis VII under orders to retrieve the bodies from the Union Square suicides [remember, he tells McNeill that what they're doing is on the DL- but he probably doesn't know it's because Matthius is trying to do this without Carthusia's interference]
-Meanwhile, Neumann and his girlfriend Marla fight for their lives in some lower part of the colony. Carthusia goes to the morgue to apologize to the corpses there for not taking them up to the Ishimura- then is promptly destroyed by a Necromorph.
-Neumann and Marla make it to Union Square to see a large crowd, some of who are going insane. They make it to the Shuttle Bay for escape.
-Weller, McNeill, and the NFG all go down to the morgue to get the bodies and- of course- find no bodies. They fight their way out, killing deranged people as they go, and make it to Union Square. McNeill shoots the NFG [asshat.] They make their way with Lexine and Eckhardt to the Shuttle Bay to also escape.
-SHIT GOES WRONG. A bunch of people pile onto one shuttle and manage to lift off- only to come plummeting right back down. Neuman and Marla manage to escape before impact and McNeill, Weller and Lexine don't even make it inside before the ship hits. They meet Eckhardt after the explosion.
-Shuttles out of the question, Team McNeill heads for the Megavents to get to Eckhardt's personal shuttle on the other side of the colony.
-Neumann and Marla head to the Comm Spiral to try and get a direct message out to the Ishimura.
-Lots of crap happens but all four make it to the shuttle [but Weller's soldiers manage to die] and they lift off for the Ishimura.
-Marla dies while they try to escape Necromorphs found in the Comm Spiral. Neumann makes a security log demanding they nuke the entire colony but then walks to his own death.
-Team McNeill crashes into the Ishimura and are taken in by Nicole's team and given a check up.
-McNeill ventures out alone to do.. something because Weller is stuck in his recovery tube blah blah bah
-They leave, splitting up from Nicole and head for the shuttles[??]
-[COMIC] Nicole makes it to med bay 2 after some time but ends up killing herself after she succumbs to madness, but not before sending a message to Isaac.
