WE REALLY DID!  I  CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!!!  I'M SERIOUSLY CRYING RIGHT NOW!!!  I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THE DAY!  WE DID IT!!!  SEVERAL YEARS AGO A MAN SAID HE HAD A DREAM AND NOW THAT DREAM IS FULFILLED, THAT PROVERBIAL GLASS CEILING IS NOW NOTHING BUT DUST ON THE FLOOR TO BE BLOWN AWAY BY THE WINDS OF CHANGE!!!

You know... you're not the only one here who was crying. :)

I hope you had MSNBC on. Keith Olbermann had an unbelievably epic monologue about the meaning of the U.S., a country where for a couple hundred years we kept blacks as property, then relegated them to second-class status, kept them from "white" schools (and bathrooms and fountains and all other manner of things), turned hoses on them and shot one of their greatest leaders... we finally said "ENOUGH!" This wasn't a choice made by a few people in a room or a hundred in a chamber or 435 in a house... this was a choice made by millions and millions of people where we said that not only are we willing to have blacks alongside us, but we showed the world that we're willing to have one LEAD us.

There's been a number of days where I've honestly been ashamed of the way we've acted as a country. Today, I can truly say that I don't think I've ever been more proud.
