thats the problem that i'm having too, because there's like a billion schools i want to go to, and all of them have the whole early action/decision thing. i would agree with what emily said. i'm only applying early decision to columbia because that's my dream school that i actually have a chance of getting in, and i'm applying regular decision for the rest. also, make sure to understand the rules of each school's early plan, because for cornell and columbia, early decision means that you can only apply to one school under early decision. so even though i want to get into both schools, i can only apply early decision to one of them.
a lot of that was me rambling, and i seriously hope it makes sense and helps!
If you want to go to MIT more--and you REALLY REALLY want to go there--throw everything you have into it. Personally I haven't found a school that I'm like OMGSHDIOSHDUIESGH!!! about yet, so I'm not applying early decision anywhere. Plus if you don't apply early decision my mom (the college woman) says that youhave a better shot at scholarship money, etc.
So yeah. Doubt that helped. Don't stress about it, though; just follow your heart!!!111 haha.

I'm applying to Northwestern also. :)
I was wondering--did you visit the campus this summer? I was in Evanston last year but I didn't get to see it.
Where else are you applying?
