[Frank finds himself silenced as he watches Liquid's dream, finding himself rewinding the last part more than once. When one lives their lives as a one-man army, a bold display of camaraderie as displayed in this man's dream is an almost humbling thing to witness. Though the faces of those in his old unit in Mozambique are impossible to recall, he remembers laying in his tank and imagining those comrades coming to his aid. Always in that moment of lucidity before his drug induced slumber would he envision such a thing.
Would he do such a thing for his fellow man? He would, now. Now that he understands what it means to fight for what he believes in. Duringh is time in the FOX unit? No. Such a thought would never have crossed his mind.]
[He fumbled for the dreamberry on his bedside table for a moment, grabbing it and peering at it in the dark to see who was contacting him.]
...I don't know.
[Those men had been all he had in the middle of the desert-- they all had to rely on each other, because there was no help and no backup deep in enemy territory. He'd gotten to know them very well while they were out there.]
[His voice was tired.] Three others and myself lived long enough to be captured. I don't know what happened to them after.
[As much as an eighteen year old kid could know about the battlefield, at least, when he'd never been on one before. Training and real combat were worlds apart.]
[He looked at Frank's face again, brows knit slightly in confusion. He looked... almost familiar. Couldn't quite place the face.] ...Have I met you before?
*Jin can't help but close his eyes after watching that, recalling his own days as a military Captain.* I'm...sorry you had to go through something like that. But it was admirable of you to risk your life to protect your unit.
[There is a moment or two of fumbling as he reachs for the dreamberry-- the fact that everyone could apparently see his nightmares is more than annoying to him, and it shows. Liquid's tone is cold when he responds.]
Don't apologize to me. It was war, and we all knew what we were getting into when we signed up. Save your pity for someone who wants it.
Either way, I don't need it. I am a dog of war-- I can only be truly alive on the battlefield. Whatever tolls war might take from you are different for me. You assume too much.
[Liquid didn't want him seeing this in the first place, nevertheless striking up a conversation about it. Even if he had started talking, Liquid wouldn't have answered.]

Such is the way of the battlefield. The killing fields we tread upon are not known for their kindness.

[Prickly Liquid is prickly.]
