Character Information:
Character Name: Sam Winchester
Age: 25
Canon: Supernatural
Appearance: Sam Winchester is rather average looking, despite football player broad shoulders and looming height. His brown hair has changed much over the course of the series, but it is a bit on the shaggy side, with his bangs pushed to the side, out of his face.
Personality: Sam Winchester, the younger of the two Winchester brothers used to believe he could live a normal life. While he loves his brother and his dad, he never understood why they needed to be hunters. He never knew his mother, didn't know who he was fighting for. Unlike Dean, Sam would often rebel against his father's orders, prefferring to question and basically get on John's case. He wanted a normal life, and for a few years, he had it. Of course, it fell through and Sam once again found himself back in the life he fought so hard to get out of.
After John Winchester's death, he realizes that he'll never get that normality and is... okay with that, for the most part. He accepts his job, his life and when he realizes that the demon has plans for him, decides he'd much rather die than play into them. And, it does kill him.
Dean bringing him back to life by making a deal is a huge influence on Sam's behavior in season three. It is, essentially the nail in the coffin in terms of no longer being the boy with the hope of being normal. He accepts help from the demon who has taken an interest in helping him break the deal, despite his brother's wishes that he not trust her, or try to get Dean out of it. His morals are tested a bit, and pushed, such as Sam shooting and killing the Crossroads Demon, and it's vessel. His intentions have always been good, they're to protect his brother - the one person he would do anything to save.
However Dean's death itself, sends Sam into a spiraling cycle of rage and alcohol, that would've gotten him killed at some point in his quest for revenge were it not for Ruby's interference. With Dean gone and no longer there to reign him in, he accepts her help, and blood as means to get his revenge and kill Lilith and get Dean out of Hell.
Background: Sam Winchester, the second son of Mary and John Winchester was born May 2, 1983 in Lawrence, Kansas. Sam, unlike his brother Dean has only a few short months (six to be exact) of a normal life. He doesn't remember any of it, of course. On the night that Sam is exactly six months old, a demon came into their house and into Sam's bedroom. He stood over his crib and fed Sam his blood. Mary, just happened to walk into the room at the wrong time. She was pinned to the ceiling while John checked on Sammy, when he noticed blood dripping from the ceiling. Then she caught a flame. John gave Sam to Dean to get out of the house.
Sam's childhood wasn't your typical childhood. John went to a psychic and learned the truth and became a hunter, determined to get his revenge on the thing that killed his wife. This meant the older man was often gone, out hunting leaving a young Dean to take care of his little brother. And for several years, that was all Sam knew - that their dad had a job that required them to travel a lot, and move from town to town. Dean knew the truth, about what their father did, Sam didn't. One fateful Christmas Eve Sam took his father's precious journal and read it. So that was it. Monsters really did exist.
This reveal was the cause of a lot of stress between Sam and his father, when John Winchester began to teach Sam and train the boys, Sam rebelled. This wasn't the life he wanted. Dean often had to keep the two from getting at each other's throats too often. But Sam was just... not happy with this lifestyle and focused on his school work, much to John's dismay. Sam was eventually accepted into Stanford with a full ride, and left hunting, his father and brother behind. He met a beautiful girl, Jessica Moore who he would plan to ask to marry, and for a while - everything was normal until his father went missing and Dean swept back into his life.
When he came back, Jessica was dead and his normal life lay in smolders. He didn't tell Dean, about his dreams. And wouldn't, not until the dreams became full blown visions that would lead the brothers to another young man, Max. Another man with abilities, like Sam who's own mother was killed in the same way. The only reason that Sam agreed to help Dean find their father was to track down the thing that did this, and kill it. For Jessica.
When they finally do find him, John is possessed. By the demon. It nearly kills Dean before Sam is able to shoot it with the Colt, but not kill it. On their way to the hospital, they're sideswiped by a possessed truck driver. Dean is dying, and suddenly he's not. But John Winchester suddenly drops dead, leaving the boys at a loss. Sam's visions continue to be a constant worry of Sam's. And after Sam turns out immune against a mysterious demon virus, Dean reveals to Sam his father's last words to him. That one day Dean might have to kill him. A hunter, by the name of Gordon Walker has the same idea.
With the feds on their tail constantly, and Sam's ~destiny~ to ditch, it only escalates. Sam wakes up in an abandoned ghost town full of demons, and other people - with powers just like him. As it turns out, this place is like Survivor, except for the Special Children. The YED reveals to Sam in a dream, that his mother knew the demon. Of course, Sam's own humanity is turned against him in a fight against one of the others and his killed, a knife to the back.
And that's it... but it's not. Because Dean makes a deal, like his father. Sam's life for his, in a year. And after the death of the YED, Sam vows he will save his brother. Dean will not go to Hell.
Sam tries. He doesn't want to lose his brother, the only person he has left. He accepts the help of the demon, Ruby against his brother's wishes. He in a sense changes, becoming a bit colder. He just wants to save his brother, and as the clock dwindles down on Dean's last year, Sam begins to grasp at straws, a doctor with the ability to live forever, a deal with the demon that made his own with... nothing. With the help of Ruby and her magical demon killing knife, the brothers confront Lilith, the demon who holds Dean's deal, to kill her and free Dean from his deal.
Not so much.
Dean is ripped apart by Lilith's hounds as Sam can only watch. And when she turns on him to kill him, she cant. She flees, leaving Sam. Alone.
The next months, Sam is driven by his grief to save his brother - to kill Lilith. If it weren't for Ruby finding him, he might've gotten himself killed. She drags him out of the alcohol fueled spiral he's been throwing himself into, and gives him a way to stop Lilith. By using what old Yellow Eyes gave him. With the help of her blood, she begins to teach him to use those powers...
Sam is coming in from the summer between season's three and four, after the events depicted in the episode of 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer', meaning he's likely to not... be himself
Special Abilities or Weapons: Much like his brother, Sam is trained, almost expertly in hand-to-hand combat, pretty much any firearm you can think of and an almost encyclopedia like knowledge of the supernatural. Sam is a proficient researcher, investigator, and the brother who when Dean's charm falls short (or when his temper kicks in), will pick up the slack to get the answers needed. He is very observant, an important trait to have in this damn business and can lie with the best of them... just not to Dean. Sam is crafty, and can improvise a last minute plan when it's needed. He can lie, cheat, steal, all of his best traits shared with his family.
Of course, there is the matter of Sam's actual special abilities, the one's he didn't learn from years of watching his brother or from his father. Sam has some serious psychic abilities. While the painful visions are gone, there is still the spark, or the chance they may return. But with Ruby's blood, he was able to use these powers to draw demons from their vessels and send them back to Hell, leaving the vessel relatively unscathed. Relying so much on Ruby's blood, without it he would go into some pretty nasty withdrawls, and wouldn't know how to use them.
Seeing as how his abilities don't function without the demon blood, I'm not sure how they'd translate to the Force. : |
Sect: For now, we'll go with civilian.
Job: Whatever Dean ends up doing, probably.

First Person:
[The camera focuses on an image of a man, he looks downright tired and worn but when he addresses the screen, he sounds just sounds annoyed]
So. Either I'm dreaming or I'm not in Kansas anymore. I dunno, both seem pretty likely, but at this point I'm starting to think that it's the former.
[sighs, his voice sounds loses it's edge and he sounds more exasperated now]
And I was kinda in the middle of something... so if there is anyone out there hearing this, that could tell me just why this place looks like a sci-fi film with an over the top budget and where the nearest exit is, I'd really appreciate it.
Third Person:
Sam Winchester had seen Star Wars, sure. Dean, for the most part had loved the films, constantly threw out witty little comments about droids and Jedi (and he had called Sam a geek) when the situation called for it. Or, didn't call for it. Sam for the most part enjoyed the movies enough, but that was it. He recalled watching the newest one with Jess and a few of her friends a few months before she died.
Right now, he found himself wondering if that demon blood had any hallucinogenic qualities to it that Ruby had failed to mention or hadn't known about, because he was fairly sure that this wasn't the abandoned crappy, boarded up little house he'd been squatting in for the last few days, the one he was positive he'd fallen asleep in just last night. This was -- bright and sandy, and there were things with brightly colored skins and spoke in voices he'd only heard in movies. Like, say, Star Wars.
And, that, he was sure of was a droid.
Right.
He made a mental note to ask Ruby, if she knew what was going on here, but if this were truly not real - then she probably wouldn't be here, would she?
Sam brushed his way through the crowd, taking it in. If this was truly a hallucination, then it was a real vivid one.
If demons and monsters could exist, why couldn't this be real?
Because, he had a job to do. He had to kill Lilith. Sam couldn't actually be on some planet straight out of George Lucas' head, not when he had to get revenge. For Dean. The brother he'd let down, let die when he'd promised he wouldn't.
He just needed to find a way out of this crazy dream, off this rock and back home.
Anything Else:
I think it was already brought up, but yeah he'll def want to be rooming with Dean. : 3
