It's up to us to keep Connor in check.

Once Riley told us that it was Spike that had burst through the doors, Leah and I felt more secure and went downstairs to see Angel’s son ( Read more... )

I finally managed to break free of the restraints that Faith had placed on my wrists; the way that Faith had hit me and the way that she had made my face swell only turned to anger against the likes of Justin and my filthy demon father. It didn’t make me hate Faith any more or less, though she was a tool, being used by my father, like so many others had been.

I got up, sore, but determined, wondering who was waiting to stop me on the other side of the door.

I freed all of the rope from my hands and tossed them down to the floor. They symbolized my imprisonment, which would not go un-avenged in this shitty world.

I walked over to the door and when I opened it, I saw Leah there with the other new slayer. This wouldn’t be easy, but I knew that Leah wouldn’t want to stop me and unless she had been brainwashed by Angel like so many others, then she would probably let me go. I moved her out of the way, but the other girl pushed me towards the bed, which I hit and fell upon, springing over to the other side of it.

Connor actually shoved me. I didn’t think that he would and I couldn’t stop remembering how sweet he had been when we first met. I couldn’t forget that he had this innocence about him and I knew that it was still in there, even if he obviously was angry and had changed, since ( ... )

“Melissa, he’s not a demon. Go easy on him…”

I didn’t even know how strong the boy was and would have preferred that Leah help me so that I didn’t have to go all out on him to keep myself from getting hurt.

Earlier, late last night, I had nearly been killed by a vampire who had drained me, so my strength isn’t at what it might normally be and even though Leah obviously sees something in this kid, I would hope that since she, myself and Riley have become so close, that she might help me.

The kid charged me and his speed into the wall, a mirror behind me threatening to tumble to the ground. He threw a punch that landed, only it didn’t hurt and I grabbed him by the shoulder and tossed him back over the bed.

“Leah, I won’t hurt him too badly if it’s both you and I dealing with him…”

I stared at her and didn’t watch the boy come in for another attack. A mistake on my part.

“Leah, I won’t hurt him too badly if it’s both you and I dealing with him…”

I had managed to move her and remembering how I couldn’t do anything against Faith, I found that this might not be too bad. I hit her and she tossed me across the room and then made the plea to Leah, who was blocking the door.

I knew that if I could get past Leah, that I might be able to get out of the house, daylight preventing any vampires from following me and I already knew that Cordy had a vision sending Faith and the despicable Justin vampire with a soul…yeah right, away.

I needed to make Melissa unconscious and then getting by Leah would take less fighting, I suspected.

After Melissa had asked for Leah’s help, again, I charged her and slammed her head-first into the wall. She screamed and went down and I was quickly to my feet, rushing towards Leah.
