His annoyance couldn’t be greater, except that this is just one of those moments that you want to savor.
The Senior partners guided him around, sure, but they led him to the wrong place. Well, not the wrong place so much as the wrong office, really.
Strong, refreshed, life a new, I got out of my chair and walked towards him as he regarded me. He called me a ghost and the turtleneck covered the fact that I no longer had a slice through my neck.
I’m very much human, except that I have traces of cyborg in me. It’s not really in the parts of the brain function that control memory or appearance or the nerves or even the attitude, but it is intertwined with my muscle tissue. It was the only way that Vail could bring me back and that the Senior Partners could effect Vail bringing me back, and boy, I’m pleased with them

When she smacked me, any illusions of her being a ghost fulfilling her contract with the firm went away.
Not only was she real, but she seemed to now have some juice too.

On the other hand, if you want to talk about the vast things that we need to catch up on, then pull up a chair and go through some of the files that I have. The work stuff is basic…there’s some assigning that needs to be done, but it’s still basic. However, the Angel parts of the equation and the rest of his team, well, they are intriguing…”She walked past me like she knew that she could take me and for all of the training that I had, there was no doubt that she was some kind of strong, somehow
