It wasn’t the first time he’s had a nightmare about Bolivia. This one was different. He couldn’t put his finger on why though. They still had the twenty five kids in the jungle. They were still heading to the helicopter. What was so different? Then it happened. Clay looked at Jensen and ordered him on the chopper with the kids to make sure they were taken care of. Jensen saluted Clay before hopping on. Cougar tried to yell at Jensen to get out but the helicopter noise drowned out anything he said. The last thing Cougar saw was the chopper exploding.

Cougar shot up, his breath coming out in short huffs. Going on instinct he reached out for Jensen. He wasn’t there. Cougar started to panic. Maybe the dream was what really happened and what he thought was real was just his mind coping with the painful loss. Before he could start processing things he ran to the bathroom. Not bothering to knock, Cougar kicked the door down startling Jensen in the shower. Jensen stuck his head out, squinting from a combination of lack of glasses and shampoo running into his eye.

“What the fuck Cougar? Ever hear of knocking?”

Cougar starred at Jensen for a moment or two before almost running to the shower and pulled Jensen into his arms, hugging him tightly to his chest. He didn’t care that he was still clothed in the shower, he found his lover. It was a dream after all. Jensen knew what was wrong the moment Cougar hugged him.

“Another nightmare.”

“Different.”

“What was different?”

“You…”

“Hey hey Cougs...I’m right here. I gotcha big guy.”

Cougar nodded and loosened his grip on Jensen. He sat on the toilet while Jensen finished his shower. After he dried off, Jensen went over to Cougar and gave him a slow loving kiss just in case the man thought he was still dreaming.

“You are so going to have to explain to Clay why we need a new door.”
