Once more, the time of shots is upon me. This generally involves an hour round trip in the car during which Cleo will bemoan her fate and lose about two pounds of fur. She even broke off part of a tooth many years ago trying to chew her way out of the pet carrier. Foolishly, I tried exactly one time to take her to the vet without the carrier. ( Read more... )

You make cat ownership sound like such great fun. :) Lucky me, I'm soon to be living in an apartment with a herd of cats, and might add another to the mix. Wheeeeee! :)

Don't get me wrong; I love my girls. Generally they are incredibly sweet. It's just that once a year we all struggle with our personal demons as we go to the vet. I left out the bit about trying to get them into the carrier first....

And I adore the cats here (I say as I look at the cat puke in the hallway that I'm about to have to go clean up). It's just been a while since I had to take cats to the vet, and while the boy says his aren't too hard to get to the vet and back, I am remembering the terrors of getting my former cats there. :)

I always loved "please bring a sample of your cats poop" bit. Do they want you to just brush off the tidy cat litter and bring it in a baggie?

And done...only 4 small puncture wounds in the back of my hand and a "The poop was too hard, you must bring us more" from the vet. Really? Now I have to check the cat poop for freshness? It spoils? Goes bad? Uggh!

I know why they want a fresh one, but come on already. It had been in there less than 12 hours...

Please, ONE black mark at the vet? Fergus, were she still with us, would declare her an amateur and might offer to take her as paduwan. She was kicked out of 3 vets, and a 4th said they WOULD kick her out, but they didn't want to lose Aidan, who is sweet and much beloved by all... much to Ferg's even greater disgust.

I'm assuming you all survived?
