Does anyone else find the olympics slightly depressing in that there are dozens of kids as much as 6 or 7 years younger achieving way more fame than you could ever hope to in your lifetime? It makes me really wish I had started and stuck with a sport at a young age. Not that I ever had any wish to be a world-class athlete, but it certainly would ( Read more... )

I've also had the desire to become really good at fencing. It would be great to have a decent coach to work under. I was always frustrated w/ the lack of expert teaching at UVa fencing... it was always on my mind at tournaments. I think if anyone with half of a pair of nuts (one nut?) would have wanted to perfect their skills and kick more ass. We certainly had the athleticism to work with.

As for my future in fencing, I think I'm going to start it up again--maybe buy a book and gear, go to some tournaments, and go to UVa club team practices. I figure I'll have the time 4th year. And/Or I'd be interested in switching to sabre just to practice with you before you fly off to Japan to hang out with the Killers and cute Japanese kids in Tokyo. If I'm around before surg starts, we'll have to do something this weekend. Later, bra.
