Catalpa Trees

Catalpa trees have huge fuzzy heart-shaped leaves. In the summer their flowers are exotic and beautiful, white with flecks of yellow and purple, like huge gaping snapdragon flowers. Later, long waxy green pods hang from the branches, slowly turning brown as the leaves wither. The pods mark Catalpa trees as members of the pea family, Fabaceae.
