I cannot agree more with what you said about the duration of Merantau and other less Indonesia common cultures (like the quirky dialogues, the habit, the views etc). the actions looks nothing different from other fighting movies. West Sumatra has specific silat's movements other than kick and punch and tiger claws *sigh* and the blood is way too much in unnecessary scenes. but still, it's a good improvement for Indonesia's movie theme. nice review, anyway :)

Hmmm... I have to admit I don't know much about silat, so all I did was just enjoying the fight scenes, which were pretty swell for me.
Well, let's hope the filmmakers will explore more movements or silat schools in the next films, because that would be rrrreally interesting :)
