McCain's speech was good, Obama's made me cry.

I went out into the streets with a bunch of people and we rallied around Boston in a group of a couple hundred, yelling and getting cars to honk. It was much better than tooling.

That's epic. Shit, I wish things like that happened here. I mean, Baltimore was partying, I'm sure, but not in a huge rally-throng of doom and you most definitely do not interact with strangers at night. Ah well. I sat in a dead-silent editing studio for twelve hours election night anyway. Had to walk back to the Gateway to get another tape and some caffeine at one point though and heard sporadic beeping, shouting and singing. Apparently the whole Gateway erupted with noise when the decision was announced too, but I missed that.

ETA: Finally watched Obama's victory speech, I literally didn't have time to last night. It was indeed very uplifting and filled me with a sense of hope. :) And the story about that 106 woman? Incredible. Just thinking about that fills me with a strange faith in humanity - that in a just single lifetime the world could change so fantastically, that human rights would expand so far and we would learn and invent so much in a century. I hope we live that long to see what wonderful new things lay in store.
