It's been a while...

I haven't updated it quite a while! The biggest thing that has happened in my life since I last updated is that I am no longer with Anya and I don't really feel like explaining to people on LiveJournal why ( Read more... )

Lol, but that's what LiveJournals are for! :P

What's Engineers Without Borders? Is it like Doctors Without Borders where you go volunteer in foreign countries or did it just steal the name to sound sweet?

Sort of. MIT's EwB went to this village in Uganda over the summer to assess what they need. Now, in theory, we are supposed to find sustainable solutions to their problems then go back and install them. If I get involved in it enough, I might be able to go to Uganda! Which, would be awesome! I plan on being on the fund-raising committee and maybe something that has to do with their water supply or finding a way to get them stuff to burn so they can cook (there aren't that many trees around because of deforestation). I didn't hear about this until this semester, and it seems awesome!!!

Whoa, that does sound like an awesome project! Go for it. :D When would you go to Uganda, next summer?

Also, unrelated but I just noticed your "music" note - would you be so kind as to send me that Neverending Story remix? <3 'Cause I lost the copy I had before, and it's so damn catchy!

Ahhhhh, DiffEQ...who's teaching this semester anyways? You'll either get congratulations or sympathy depending on the answer. =p

Fenway is nifty. But that 15 minutes matters, especially when you're used to a five minute commute. I'm in Next House, though, so maybe my opinion is less valid? More importantly, having support is fairly important. Seriously, upperclassmen have saved my ass before. On the other hand...you'll be an upperclassman next year, won't you? You're a sophomore now (I think). If you've got one or two guys in Fenway taking somewhat the same courses as you, then you should be fine. Else, you could always make a study group with yer classmates.

You sound busy but happy. Good luck this semester, sir!

The professor's name in 18.03 is Vogan. He has never taught the class before, which is quite apparent.

Argh...hooray for n00bs. But he's not a senile old man who laughs at his jokes and never explains anything, is he?

He's old, he actually said, "Why I haven't taught in this room since... Well... Before you were born!"

He explains things though, just not well.
