I'm Not Paid Enough

Jan 11, 2005 15:38

Okay, I'm a stay at home Mom, so technically, I'm not paid period, but it would be nice to get something beneficial from being my eldest child's personal driver. I pick him up at school at 2 every day -- which really screws up my afternoon and schedule (mainly because I'm paranoid about leaving an appliance running when there's not anyone home). (LJ is being strange today...)

He gets picked up because instead of having 4 classes right now, he only has 3, and his last class ends about an hour and 45 minutes before school ends. Next semester he'll have 4 classes and can either take the bus or drive himself (providing he gets his license *g*).

However, he DID have a job working in the guidance office, but he lost it. Seems he missed too many days of work (I caught him one of the days, walking home with some friends. Got him grounded for two weeks). The last straw was when he stayed after his 3rd class to finish a test and didn't think to go to the guidance office to let them know beforehand. hopefully, he's learned a lesson from that *g*!

Hey, and your *old* friend is here now (smirk)

Cath, you're really such an adorable mom, sometimes the kids just have to take some time to learn. Esp. for boys, it might mean until they reach their thirties or even later than that when they are really not *shy* enough to show that they appreciate what their moms have always done for them. But I believe they always know, just that they don't really wanna admit that in words. We've been their ages, right.

One ongoing thing with me and hubby is that I keep saying that I remember how it was to be that age and what I did and the hubby wants to be the "grown-up" and not admit to anything *g*.

Girls, though, are easier. When PMS hits, they can go on and have their periods and then it passes. Boys just stay PMSing for a while.

Cathy,

Mine's not old enough yet for all that, but I can appreciate the ordeal with it and the hubby's action or lack of action.

Oh I just can't wait, look what I have to look forward too! Husbands, men! hmpfh!

I'm battling with mine online right now. Some days I wanna scream with both my fellas.

*HUGS* And don't let hubby give you crap that all you do is drive your son around! As if. Make his butt stay at home for about a week and I bet he'll appreciate your job even more, because it definately is a job.

It gets worse -- I've also a got 14 year old boy. There are some evenings when I close the door to the computer room just so I can't hear the teenagers snarling at one another and their father yelling at them both to stop *g*. Just the typical stuff: You let him get anyway with everything. You never let me do anything fun, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Actually, Greg (the hubby) appreciates it. He's just the type who thinks that if I don't come right out and ask him to drive Paul there, then that must mean that I enjoy it and therefore he won't volunteer to do it, because I enjoy it. He lets me get away whenever I want on mini-vacations. Actually, he's mentioned that he wishes I could do it more, because he has to travel a lot with work and leave me alone with the kids. And we also have our times when we go away without the kids *g*.

I DID want a girl, but the hubby refused to cooperate with me on that *vbg*.

Hey Cathy!

It's MK, which you might remember as "thepointedstick". I have a completely weird question for you. Do you know Invicta, who apparently did an ER slash story? I'm searching for her, and the memory of some ER slash story by her came to mind.
