Any chance it was because upper management wasn't able to secure enough projects to justify having as many employees as they did?

Or rather, because upper management didn't try to secure enough projects etc.?

They haven't been able to secure any projects. I know they've been trying. It's a common problem with 3rd party developers.

I know they have a vested interest in getting more projects, they own the company. The company fails, they don't get paid.

Argh. How frustrating to be out of work not even because of circumstance or your own actions, but because of someone else's failings. Good luck with the job hunt :o I hope it doesn't cause too many problems with apartments and moving, etc.
