Calvin may have been on to something when he said that the world was "short, brutish and nasty". I have always ignored his opinion, as it is one that is at odds with my previously optimistic attitude, but now i may embrace it as the series of events in my life keep spiraling down.

Yeah I'm a geek and I dont care--I will be at the midnight showing of the new Star Wars movie

Went to see Jimmy Chamberlin Complex (ex drummer of Smashing Pumpkins) at the Meridian last night with Duhon/John/Geoff. They played in the Red Room to an audience of about 70 people, but it was a really great show. Chamberlin's new material is jazz-fusion mixed with a dark pop sound, which I really like.

This past weekend I traveled to Indio, CA for this year's Coachella Art and Music festival. Having wanted to attend this concert for a few years but never finding the time (or the money), I decided to get my shit together this year and head out there. holy shit, Bloc Party's "Silent Alarm" is amazing. This band has been hyped more than Jesus' second coming (almost) but tonight is the first time I have ever heard more than one song and I can safely say that I am impressed, even so much as to say that this is one of my favorite albums of 2005.
