45 [accidental Video/action]

[The hall terminal comes on to show Gokudera with his shirt covered in blood and a body slung over his shoulder. It's Hibari's body, and he's missing an arm and a good chunk of the left upper corner of his ribcage. And he is very, very dead.]

[No, Gokudera, Juudaime will not approve of this at all. Tsuna had been looking for Gokudera after the mansion repaired itself to ask if he knew where Ryuho lived. Just to check up on him and make sure he's okay. And, after everything else that's happened, now Hibari is dead? It was bad enough when it was someone he didn't know.]

G-Gokudera-kun? What happened?!?

Action, because this wasn't going to be awkward enough otherwise

[Gokudera pauses. Well. Shit.]

...Juudaime.

[He shifts Hibari's body on his shoulder.]

We had a disagreement.

Awkward is really not the word for this...

A disagreement....?

[It suddenly feels like all the air has been sucked out of the room. Tsuna just looks at him with incomprehension. This could not have happened. Why would he...? When he finally manages to get his voice to come out, it sounds very small.]

You.... You killed him?

It's his second death. He'll be back in a couple days.

[See how he didn't answer that question?]

[Oh, yeah, he saw. The lack of an immediate, flustered denial doesn't look good.]

[Well there are two answers to that question, and one is really really long, but the shorter one makes Gokudera look like a psycho.]

He shot down that zeppelin. There might have been people up there.

[Okay, that's not really an answer either.]

[Tsuna struggles to remember how to breath properly. The not-answers to his questions are giving him a very bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. Determined, he asks again.]

But then how did he die?

[He really, really hopes that there is some other explanation. Anything besides this place being so bad that they're killing each other.]

I shot him, Juudaime.

[He doesn't look at Tsuna. He can't be proud of himself for killing a family member, especially not in front of Tsuna. Any other kill, he could look Tsuna in the eye as he admitted it, but not this one.]

Oh, Gokudera, did you have to murder Hibari when Dame-Tsuna was still recovering from Ryuho's death?

[So it was true. Tsuna almost wishes that he'd lied. Almost. As it is, he stares at Gokudera in shock for a few seconds before his eyes drop to the floor again. This was..... too much. He'd thought the zombies were bad, but this is worse. Some part of him wants to be angry at Gokudera, but he can't muster anything except shock right now. So he turns away.]

I see...

[He starts to leave, not even feeling the tears that are gathering in his eyes.]

....Yes...?

[Honestly, Gokudera had expected anger. In a way, it would have made him feel better. He drops Hibari's body to follow Tsuna for a few steps.]

Juudaime, he'll be back.

This encounter is likely to end poorly.... ^_^;

[He'll be back? Does he honestly think that makes it okay? Tsuna can't quite supress a small shudder of anger. But what good would it do to yell at him for it now? He finally turns to look at Gokudera, wiping the tears out of his eyes.]

....Why? Did- Did killing Hibari-san really do anyone any good?

[Gokudera stops short at the sight of the tears.]

....I wasn't intending to kill him.

[Well, if Gokudera wanted anger, now he's got it.]

But you did. Whatever the problem was you didn't have to take it this far! Hibari-san may not exactly be our friend, but he's not an enemy!

[Gokudera clenches his fists. There are so many things that led up to this encounter, he probably couldn't even list all of them. And while he doesn't want Tsuna to be angry at him, he can't feel much regret for what he did. He just feels cold.]

I've spent the last year trying to convince him of that, but he doesn't listen, Juudaime. He does whatever he wants, when he wants.

[hyperintuitive]

And- And you thought that this was the answer?

[As quickly as it had come, his rage eaves him. There's a strange sort of numbness taking it's place. He takes a step backwards, shaking his head sadly. He just cannot deal with this.]

I'm sorry...

[He turns on his heel and runs. He's not sure where he's going, just...away. He's sorry for a lot of things. Sorry that he isn't the Tsuna from Gokudera's time, sorry that he had to see something like this, sorry that he couldn't have stopped this from happening. Because above all else, he feels like this is his fault....]

Juudaime--!

[Gokudera takes a few steps after him, then remembers the corpse behind him in the hallway. He can't just leave it there.

He'll deal with that first. And figure out how to explain all of this in a way that makes sense. There are still a lot of things he hasn't told Tsuna, things he didn't want to tell him. But it seems like he might have to.

So instead of following Tsuna, he picks the corpse back up and continues on to Hibari's room.]
