I don't know if I so much admire Robbi's stuff because our styles are dramatically different, but I am really liking his work the more I see of it. He has great brushwork on his inking and his style is similiar to Mike Allred and other indy artists, but i could see him drawing a kick-ass retro DC book also and I see great leaps and bounds in his ( Read more... )

It's funny, when you grow up there are a few things you are taught that stick around for one reason or another. Last weekend I had the great opportunity to meet and speak with a comics artist by the name of Brett Blevins. Bret was a penciller who did a lot of work for Marvel in the late 80's and early 90's on some of their mutant books like New Mutants, X-Terminators and others. So about 8:00 last night my wife asked me - "Have you seen the cat?" To which I immediately said "oh fuck..." because our cat always tries to get out and usually is successful about 70% of the time but my son Aiden (my 5-year old) is really good about getting her back quickly.
