Awww..thanks. I'm not moving, though. I worked hard to get back to Madison..!

And there's no librarian shortage. As people retire, jobs are not being filled, not because there are no candidates, but because organizations are downsizing FTEs by attrition. Job duties get parcelled out among other workers, or re-configured as paraprofessional jobs (which are cheaper for the organization, or so many organizations think...)

Laura Bush is trying to recruit more people for a profession that is (currently, anyway) not actually looking for qualified job candidates. She shares some of her husband's clueless tendencies, methinks.

Thanks for the info though. It's (a little) good to know she's doing something with her big "first lady issue", at least. Here she's had it for 5 1/2 years and she's mostly just given a bunch of speeches.
