I must say that I have never found it silly. I am grateful every time you give me one more thing to admire and absorb, because I am doing it constantly also. I remember squatting on our porch staring at roly-polies until our legs fell asleep. I remember counting the different color cigarette butts between the cobblestones in Faenza's streets. I remember your collections of beautiful tiny things, maybe only enough to fill half of a plastic cup, but as big to me as any exhibit worth hours of contemplation

I made a film in 2003 about a young girl being the only one who can hear from trees and the only dialogue is her saying "the tree, it... it wanted to be like us" ...
