OOC- Description: Happening right after the shooting, Yazoo couldn't take it any longer and decided to call someone, needing a distraction. Eyes landing on Huber's number, it was a reflex action as he pressed the speed-dial button, praying Huber would be awake.
Yazoo was still seated on the chair next to Tseng's bed, holding the man's hand between his own. He didn't look paniced, but inside there was a storm going on.
He needed to call someone. Anyone. Yazoo needed to get this off of his mind, in fear of doing something at random to keep himself busy.
Though when he looked around, he remembered he left his phone... somewhere. So he sighed, slumping back in the chair, not releasing his hold on the Turk's hand. Pondering where he could have last had it, Yazoo came up blank and snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a knock on the door. "Come in?"
A nurse peeked in and opened the door fully, closing it behind her. It was pretty early in the morning, and Yazoo didn't sleep through the night, and wanted to call someone in the middle of the night but refused to wake anyone up.
But he looked at the nurse curiously as she was holding something, and his eyes widened, reaching over with a hand, taking the cellphone out of her hands. It looked like it had been cleaned, but Yazoo didn't want to ask as he stood up from his chair, murmuring to her a thanks. Taking one last look at the sleeping man on the bed, Yazoo stepped out of the room and headed towards the greenhouse, where he knew it would be guarded heavily, but he would be able to control himself in there.
Pressing the 'close' button on the elevator, Yazoo waited, tapping his foot on the ground then dashed out when the door opened again, stepping in the greenhouse.
The path that lead to the bench he and Tseng sat on that one night came into view, and Yazoo glanced around before sitting down. Indeed, there was a lot of security, but they noticed who Yazoo was throughout the whole process and let him be.
Opening the phone, Yazoo looked through his contacts and found Huber's number instantly, and without thinking he pressed a button, and the phone rang.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
The Greek Mythology teacher stirred in his bed slightly as a beeping annoyance began to wake him up from his sleep. Not raising his head from the pillow it rested on, Huber glanced over toward the window on the other side of the room. Judging from the view he saw there, it was still fairly dark out. Taking his attention away from the window, Huber glanced at a digital clock residing on a table near his bed. The alarm clock hadn't even gone off yet, as it was only 5: 30 AM in the morning.
He began to rub his eyes gently as he sat up in his bed, wondering who could be calling him at such a time. Well, there were only a few people that he could assume who it was, really. Yazoo, Kakashi, Iruka, Rufus, Tseng, or Shigure (he highly doubted that it was). He let out a soft yawn, and soon realized that the ringing noise had ceased to an end.
For that short moment, that is. Pretty soon, it began again.
This time, now slightly awake, Huber picked up the phone. He smiled weakly to himself as he took a guess of who it was. "...Yazoo, is this you?" He inquired softly, a tired tone lingering in his voice.
Yazoo let out a long, relieved sigh, letting his hand that was clutching onto the bench finally relax. Huber picked up. That's... that's good.
"Y-yeah..." He didn't mean to have a shaky voice, but now that he was out in the greenhouse, practically alone, save the guards who just stood by the doorway and random places around the garden, Yazoo couldn't help it.
The silver-haired teen pushed his hair out of his eyes, the loose ponytail coming undone, but he ignored it for the time being. He still had bloodstains on his hair, the deep red contrasting with silver. "I'm... so sorry for calling you so early. I..." He faltered again, not knowing how to go on.
The uneasiness in Yazoo's tone caused Huber to worry greatly. The Greek Mythology teacher, now awake, had been reminded of a certain journal entry that a Sophomore female by the name of Kono Mitsune had posted up just a few days ago. Yazoo was stuttering, and to Huber, he sounded…desperate.
"It's fine, Yazoo. What's wrong?" Huber inquired as his tone of voice raised from the once soft, tired, tone. "A…are you alright, Yazoo? You aren't injured, are you? I…heard about what happened at the hospital. At least...part of what happened anyway. Your…fine, yes?" All of these questions had just slipped out of his mouth without him noticing.
Pressing a hand over his forehead, he hunched over, happy to hear someone else's voice, and a kind one at that. Though he didn't like the worried tone Huber had, it didn't stop Yazoo from murmuring back into the phone. "I... I'm fine. Kadaj is too. We're both fine..." Again, he trailed off, trying to calm himself down. Maybe it wasn't good that he called Huber, but he really was desperate for some contact.
Even though he announced he was fine, he obviously did not have a tone of voice that would consider one to define themselves as 'fine'. Yazoo shook, though did not notice it at the time.
"...But." He stopped once more, biting his bottom lip, thinking about Tseng, and Rufus.
A long, soft sigh of relief was let out as Yazoo answered him. Huber would not know what he would do if...Kadaj and Yazoo had been injured that night. After all, he had promised Yazoo that he would always be there for him, always be there to protect him, didn't he? If he failed to keep that promise...
Another soft sigh was released before he began to respond. "That's...good. I am glad. I wouldn't know what I'd do if you had been injured..." Huber replied, his tone of voice lowering.
"...but?" He inquired.
Yazoo put his hand over his mouth, breathing very, very carefully. He knew if he didn't relax, he wouldn't be able to say anything without breaking down.
He promised himself he wouldn't. He couldn't. He had to be strong, had to be the one to hold people's hands and tell them everything would be alright, or to just simply offer comfort and support.
The teen suddenly found that a rather difficult task, but he slid his hand off of his mouth and said, a little less shaky this time. "Tseng and Rufus have been... injured. Badly." The image of Tseng ontop of the bed, pale, unlike himself, knocked out and looking... helpless. Gun, one of the Turks, just told Yazoo of Rufus' condition. Stable, but not well. Not well at all.
Biting his bottom lip, he fumbled with the right words to say. "I... don't know what to do." Yazoo finally admitted. All he could do was help clean, situate everything back in order, but it only took his mind off of it for so long.
"Rufus...and Tseng."
The Greek Mythology teacher gently closed his eyes as his grip on the phone tightened slightly. Silence slipped through their conversation as he took this moment...to recall Rufus. Rufus Shinra...he prayed that he would turn out to be fine. That man...he was not so bad at all. Huber had...enjoyed becoming friends with him, and enjoyed talking to him. If he were to loose him, so soon...
Huber took a deep breath. "Where...are you right now, Yazoo? At the hospital still?"
"Yes." Yazoo answered simply, finding himself able to talk without shaking finally. He sat back in the bench, letting out a small sigh, closing his eyes as he tilted his head back to look at the still semi-dark sky. "But... its under high security. Really high security." Mako green eyes traced the path to the bench, noticing a few guards peering at him from time to time, making sure Yazoo was safe and unharmed.
It really did make him feel safe, but... he couldn't have a proper conversation with Huber if this was going to go on. Yazoo made do with what he had though, not wanting to get off the phone so soon. Just the small contact, however little it was over the phone, stabalized him.
"Do you think there would be anyway that...I would be able to visit?" Huber asked.
Turning to look at the guards again, Yazoo shook his head a little, knowing Huber couldn't see him but he did it anyway. "I don't know. I could possibly talk to security, as you were on the list of people who could visit anyway before this."
"....Thank you. I'd really like to visit you soon." Huber replied softly. Another soft sigh was released from his lips as his tightened grip on the phone was released.
Giving another nod, Yazoo bit his bottom lip, thinking over something for a moment. "How much were you told? About last night, I mean." Yazoo didn't know where else to go, and didn't find silence between he and Huber awkward anymore, but at the same time found it ridiculous to take up the Greek Mythology teacher's time if he had nothing to say or talk about.
"I...was not told much." Huber began. "The only source of information of what happened that night I have is a student's live journal. A sophomore's named Mitsune Konno."
Yazoo's hand that was placed on the bench twitched once when he heard the name. Mitsune... yes, yes she had been there alright, scared and all. Yazoo didn't particularly like or dislike the woman, but it was more so his phobia that acted up when around her, though he tried to be civil. For Tseng. He probably wouldn't have done it otherwise.
Inhaling deeply, Yazoo then parted his lips to begin. "Tseng and I were in the room, just talking, when Kadaj came in and told us something was wrong." He paused. "It happened too quickly. Not a moment later Kadaj and I were behind the bed, on the ground." Yazoo didn't exactly know why he was explaining this to Huber in small detail, but more than needed. "But we got out, though Tseng..." His suddenly dry throat tightened slightly, but he gained control back easily. "He got shot, and walked out soon after to look for Rufus. Kadaj, Mitsune and I were escorted to a new room for an hour or so." Yazoo didn't think he needed to go on. Tseng was brought to the room, Kadaj slept, Mitsune went home, and Yazoo didn't sleep.
Huber, who still resided in his bed as he spoke to Yazoo over the phone, began to stir a little again as Yazoo explained the situation. Finally deciding to get out of it, Huber stood up on the floor in his room. "I'm....going to attempt to visit you today, Yazoo." Huber said.
Putting his feet on the bench, Yazoo huddled a little on the bench, pressing his legs up against his chest as he hugged onto them with an arm. "....thank you." Yazoo really wanted to hear that again, reassured, knowing he has someone he could rely on outside of the hospital. Someone not his brother, his lover, or his friend.
"I'll get right onto speaking to the guards, then. You can call me when you're ready."
A smile spread across his face. "I will be sure to." Huber replied.
Yazoo let a long string of silence pass through, before he buried his head in the middle of his kneecaps, barely speaking into the phone. "Thank you..." He repeated it several times out of his own will, fighting back his unstable state that was locked inside.
If Huber were by Yazoo's side now, he would have most likely gently ruffled his hair again. "Mmm, your welcome, Yazoo..."
Yazoo felt a little more whole than before, enlightened even, clouds finally drifting away from his once foggy head. Sitting up once more properly, he allowed his eyes to close and a small smile to form on his face. "I'll see you later today, then." He knew he would be looking forward to that, though hoped and prayed Tseng would wake up so he could spend at least a little time with him, and to be able to give Huber some good news in the process.
"Yes...hopefully." Huber replied to Yazoo as he closed his eyes before putting the phone back down, ending their conversaion.
Opening his eyes finally, Yazoo stared at nothing in particular before flipping his cellphone shut, standing up. The guards that were quietly watching him gave a sort of concerned look, but Yazoo only nodded once to them and walked to the elevator again, head held high instead of bent with a broken look on his face. And once in the elevator, he smiled, just a little, before stepping out on the bottom floor where the entrance to the hospital was at. He was a little taken back when he noticed there were several officers, but pressed on.
He would do what he could. He would do what he could with a straight face, calm, collected, and showing no worry or mercy to those who wanted to oppose him.
And with that, he stepped outside. With that he ordered, not asked, but ordered the officers and the Turk standing outside to allow Huber pass when he came.
They only nodded once, before returning to their original positions.
OOC - Note: So yeah, that's basically it. I'll start putting up logs as I see fit, and I think this one needs to be up for some... random reason. *Shrugs* ALL HAIL SHINRIANS.
