Personal Log - Way back when at the start of the year

OOC: So. This was done for Tale/Kadaj-mun, whom I promised a 'Yazoo first meets Koray' mini-fic thing. So this is WAY way dated back to the first time we started RPing stuff. Pre-hospital.

Beware the sheer crappiness that which is my writing right now. Don't care all that much, but...

Warnings? Fluffy kitten stuff behind the cut. That is all.

And why was he doing this again?

Yazoo tried to ponder his options, if there was any way shape or form to break from his idea and still get away with something relatively nice for Kadaj, though failed in the process and decided it was best to just go with what was originally planned. Should complications arise, and Yazoo had to abort his 'mission', he would simply try again if need be.

Though when he pressed a hand to the door the teen sighed, stepping inside of the store, frowning visibly when he spotted the section in the far back corner which was his destination.

Taking a step forward, Yazoo was uncertain, but moved on and nodded once to the woman standing by the pin of romping kittens once he arrived.

Yes, kittens.

The pet store was the last place Yazoo ever thought he'd step into, but alas, there he was in plain daylight, finding it hard to turn tail and run. This was something he had to do, and even though he picked one out already... he was kind of discontent with the fact that the kitten was keen to clawing on things rather roughly. And that it seemed to have a mischievous look on its face, but it was perfect. Yazoo was overall pleased with his selection, and hoped it would satisfy Kadaj's need (or more so wanting) of a pet, which he couldn't recall if he ever had one before. Probably not. Jenova didn't really like animals all that much.

“Would you like to take him in the inside pin to play with him again?” The woman, now holding the white kitten in question with bright yellow eyes, peered at Yazoo curiously who seemed to be lost in thought. Snapping out of his suddenly dazed state, Yazoo stared at the white ball of fuzz in her arms and didn't say anything for a moment, before nodding once.

He'd have to connect with the beast sooner or later.

---

“...I would like it very much so if you'd let go of my hair.”

The kitten currently had its mouth latched onto a lock of Yazoo's hair, tugging on it viciously as if it were its prey. The young man wasn't used to dealing with animals, and was baffled on how to tell him in a physical aspect that what he was doing was wrong and would be frowned upon most likely. But the kitten looked content, why would he pull him away from his fun when he wasn't doing anything terribly--

And that thought was stopped when the kitten decided a very violent tug was needed; Yazoo wrapping his fingers around its middle, picking it up so he could stare at it face to face. “You're troublesome.” Blank eyes stared into curious ones, the creature not daring to stop the innocent look in its eyes. “Be thankful I chose you, as I highly doubt anyone else would have.” That statement got a well deserved 'mew', and Yazoo realized just exactly what he was talking to - a cat. Someone who can't exactly respond back properly.

The foolishness of him doing such a thing made Yazoo want to stop talking, but found it sort of comforting in a way to know something would listen (sort of) to him without needing to respond vocally.

Yazoo tugged the lock of hair out of the kitten's mouth, who looked almost disappointed, but Yazoo didn't care all that much at the time. And instead of putting it down on the floor, he found himself allowing the animal to curl on his lap, purring contently. Pale fingers began to stroke the fine fur, eyes soft with a content look written on the teens face. He wanted to smile but it wasn't in his natural at the time to do that so frequently, and instead decided that he didn't need to smile to show his small happiness, the stroking seemingly enough to make the kitten content.

He shifted in his seat though, beginning to get lost in thought once more. What made Kadaj want a kitten of all things? He remembered it was under the influence of someone else, or so he tried to recall. But... why? Was human contact not enough?

A confused expression crossed Yazoo's facial features, but he soon directed his attention fully on the kitten who was now licking itself, then stared up at Yazoo, almost questioningly, asking 'can we go home yet'?

The edges of Yazoo's lips twitched slightly, wanting to move upward but refused to do just that. So instead, Yazoo spoke once more. “Let's go home.”

---

Struggling with the bundle in his arms, Yazoo slipped inside of his dorm, shutting the door behind him quickly, allowing the kitten to finally break free of Yazoo's hold, slipping out of his arms to roam the floor below.

Yazoo felt exhausted. The kitten gave quite the struggle along the way to his dorm room, but he couldn't blame him. Being locked in a cage really didn't seem like fun, and Yazoo semi-understood his pain so allowed him to be wrapped in a blanket and carried back like that.

Bad idea. He not only got scratched several times due to the traffic on the streets(out of fear and sheer clinging to the pale skin underneath his long sleeved shirt), he maybe even got bitted once in the process, though he could hardly feel it. But it stung after a while, which he found amusing since the kitten was so small. Yazoo should have learned his lesson before hand, though. Kadaj was small, respectively, and put up good fights with sheer stubbornness and guts, so why couldn't a kitten do the same? It barely had any shame, so of course it would have struggled.

Well, what was done was already done, and Yazoo could only hope there wouldn't be scars in the morning.

---

The kitten wouldn't stop bothering him through the teens attempt of trying to make dinner. Yazoo didn't even bother peering down at it when it pulled roughly at the cuff on Yazoo's pant leg. It was beginning to really be bothersome, but it deemed to be simple to ignore it enough for the kitten to wander off and make his way on top of one of the fallen pillows on the ground, curling up on that, watching Yazoo with piercing yellow eyes.

Though after Yazoo ate he really did feel the need to sleep, and changed into his pajamas, feeling eyes on him as he turned around, staring at the kitten on the floor. “...do you mind?”

Even though the creature tilted its head to the side, it seemed to understand but didn't want to tear his eyes away, probably knowing it was upsetting Yazoo to an extent.

Yazoo quietly wondered if he was going to be exiled in the bathroom to change from now on, and wouldn't have some cat step in and take over. No, not at all.

...but he was defeated in the end, the small staring contest he had with the kitten made him wonder why he was even bothering, and stepped in the bathroom to change. If one looked close enough they would probably see a look of pure victory written all over the animal's features, who curled back up happily and drifted off to nap.

---

Yazoo fell asleep soon after crawling into bed, somehow finding sleep to be the most comforting thing at the time. Though as he finally drifted off, not an hour later he heard loud 'mew'ings and sat up in bed, looking rather confused, almost forgetting about the kitten all together. But there was a tearing sound and Yazoo's eyebrows furrowed immediately, looking down at the side of his bed, a very pathetic looking kitten sitting next to it with its claws digging into Yazoo's bedsheets.

Lovely.

Sighing, Yazoo shifted in bed and stared at the cat, wondering what he should do. So, not knowing anything else, the teen picked the kitten up and sat it on the bed, wanting to scold it for shredding the bottom of his sheets, though observed its features carefully and noticed it was shaking. Was it... scared? To be left alone at night with nothing more but a pillow to cuddle with? Possibly, but Yazoo didn't understand why that was.

Before Yazoo had a chance to do anything the kitten made its way to Yazoo's side, curling up beside him, still shaking slightly. Kind eyes replied to the kitten, frowning a little in the process, reaching a hand out to stroke its small head softly. It seemed to calm it down, the shaking finally fading away, the kitten looking as if it once again gave into sleep.

Yawning, Yazoo laid back down on the bed, a hand still stroking the kitten's head, before giving into sleep himself, not realizing he was smiling slightly in his sleep.

Yazoo couldn't wait to give the kitten to Kadaj.

OOC: And I swear a REAL Yazoo-type update is going to come. Soon. I think.
