This is my response to pre LDYB spoilers, specifically ones that said Lee refused Kara medicine for Anders.
Edited to add:
Okay, Lee didn't say "no" to Kara so my whole anti-Lee wank is now an example of me freaking out. Like we need another example of that ;-) However, I do feel vindicated for thinking that The Captain's Hand was more "goodbye" than "forever". Since Lee's still in love with Kara (before the year later), I've been proven wrong about Lee having moved on and getting over Kara. So, I obviously don't have a good line on what TPTB are doing with the K/L relationship but it does seem like they're just throwing crap in the way of the relationship for the purpose of keeping the characters apart. The Kara scene might have been in character, but it was brutal. The barriers betwen the two have always been guilt about Zak and fear of intimacy, but now we've got so much more stuff. The roadblocks don't feel organic anymore, instead they just seem to be melodramatic plot devices. Yeah, I like Starbuck's Creek, but I love Battlestar Galactica . On a different note, I hope that the split between Kara and Lee isn't all Kara's fault because it would be repetitive-Kara frakks up and Lee has to forgive her. Lee's a great guy but he's just as messed up by their history (Zak etc.) as Kara. Let Lee be the reason that they aren't speaking. That's in-character given his behavior towards Adama. In addition, we haven't seen Kara have to forgive Lee for anything big so here would be our chance to see how she handles betrayal or whatever.

Okay, I’ve been totally spoiled for the BSG finale. On one hand I wish I hadn’t been but on another I’m glad that I have time to mentally prepare myself. Ultimately I think next season will rock. At least one part of the show will rock-the New Caprican Rebel Alliance as I call it. The section of the show focusing on the Fleet? Not gonna lie, it will suck.
Lee might be an ass.
Rumor is that Anders, now married to Kara, is dying and they don't have any medicine on the planet. I don’t know if it’s radiation poisoning, but he need medicine and the Peg is stockpiling the specific medicine he needs. Kara calls Lee to ask for medicine and LEE says “NO”. I can’t capslock this enough but WHAT THE FUCK? Are you kidding me? He says “No”! Dude, that’s much, much, much worse than what Kara did for Zak. If I was Kara I would never forgive Lee for that. Never. I don’t care if there isn’t enough medicine for everyone, I don’t care. Your former best friend calls you and asks for medicine for her dying husband, who has pretty much saved her from killing herself, and you say “no”? Apparently, and I don’t know if this will even be true, Lee is pissed because Kara dissed Dee in the past. Kara dissed your frak-buddy and now you’re going to make sure her husband dies? That part of the rumor better not be true. Okay, without really knowing his motivation, which could be good-like the medicine wouldn’t help Anders because he’s too sick, the act seems really out-of-character.
TPTB are killing my 'ship
I just wonder why TPTB would do this crap to the Lee/Kara relationship. What is the point of putting yet another emotional wedge between Lee and Kara when we already have the Anders/HUSBAND wedge, the Kara stranded on the planet while Lee is off exploring space wedge and the Dee wedge? The only creative reason I can think of is that when everyone is reunited Kara will not work for or with Lee and their relationship will be similar to the old Kara/Tigh one.
It’s true I’m a Kara fangirl and will still love the show ‘cause it’s got Girlfriend, but I LOVE the Kara/Lee stuff. Like love more than Buffy/Angel. I love the chemistry between the actors, I love the conflict, the fighting, the playing, the UST. Everything. Buddy-cop L/K, Funny L/K, Mellow L/K, Stressed L/K, Teasing L/K, BFF L/K, Sibling L/K, Lover L/K, Jealous L/K. I love it. It's a major part of why I love the show. And unlike Veronica and Logan who are great together and apart, Kara and Lee work far better together. And if the rumors are true, then TPTB aren’t just separating Lee and Kara, they’re putting a stake in the heart of that 'ship for the foreseeable future. I don’t know that their relationship, even as friends, can survive this kind of soap-opera BS. It's just stupid. It makes me wonder if the producers even understand how great the Kara/Lee dynamic is. But they have to understand 'cause it's at the heart of the freaking show! Ugh.
