I watch Veronica Mars with my sister every weekend and without fail I have to pause the tivo and about gush how Logan is a woobie and how I couldn't love him more.
[When I ask my sister, "Isn't he wonderful? Don't you just love him so much?" she always says "Yes" 'cause she's smart like that.] Since Logan is my second favorite character after Starbuck I've been forced to waste time wondering what they have in common. Both Jason Doring and Katee Sackhoff are great actors, but is it the qualities of the character type (instead of the actors) that makes them attractive? They're both self-destructive, thorny, abused, emotional, smart, witty, charismatic, loyal and secretly vulnerable.

Veronica Mars is Smarter Than This describes Logan from Veronica's pov:
How he was fiercely loyal, and fun, and how he would do these outrageous things and manage to get out of trouble with everyone with a smirk and a hollow apology. You have about eight zillion memories of things Logan's done that made everyone like him and want to be him, even while they hated him.
If you take away the "hollow apology" doesn't this describe Kara too? What do those of you that watch VM and BSG think? How are they different? How are they alike? Why are these bad traits attractive in a fictional character? Is it messed up to find these characters attractive? Is it messed up to be secretly attracted to Sheriff Lamb and Season 1 Baltar too? Not that I am, I'm just asking...
BTW, I realize that I sound like an idiot gushing about these characters but I DON'T CARE. So there.
Edited to add: I think Wallace=Helo. I haven't fully thought that one out but I think it maybe kinda works. Duncan=Anders or Zak? Veronica = Lee. VM and LA share a lot in common but I think Veronica is less of a girl than Lee ;-)
