House Call
Gwen had finished washing the dishes from lunch and was wiping her hands on a towel when she turned around and stopped in her tracks. There on the kitchen counter, where nothing had been before, was a plaster and some iodine and fresh flannel.
"What the-"
She was cut-off as Duncan came running into the kitchen, tears streaming down his face. "MUM!"
"What is it, love?" Gwen asked as she scooped him up and sat him on the counter.
Pointing to his skinned knee, he blubbered, "It hurts!"
"What happened?"
"Owen's sorry he didn’t catch me."
Gwen dropped the flannel.
