The Doctor and The Writer of Magic

The Doctor jammed his finger down on the blue button on the TARDIS console. Martha grabbed at the wall for support and just gaped at The Doctor as he checked the date on the main computer screen.

“Well Martha, how about a coffee?” The Doctor asked as he walked out the main door of the TARDIS onto the busy midday street.

Martha hurried behind him as they ducked into the semi-full coffee shop. She glanced at a newspaper had left on the counter, 1994. Looking up, she spotted The Doctor talking to a woman with blonde hair hunched over a notebook. Martha ordered a coffee and walked over by them.

“Good luck with the books. I must say, I am glad to have met you.”

“I never said I was writing more than one book,” the woman replied.

“Oh, but you will, and they will be brilliant! You are simply brilliant!” He shook the woman’s hand and left the coffee shop.

Martha dropped the cup on a nearby table and chased after him. It all clicked as she caught up to him. “Oh my God! That was JK Rowliing!”

The Doctor just smiled at her as he ducked into the TARDIS.
