This is so gay.

Okay, I admit this is gay, and well, I don't give a crap. It's the holidays folks, and I think it only right that I take the time to name the things I am thankful for this year. Interesting tradition if you think about it objectively, but I think its kinda foolish not to at least acknowledge what has gone right in your life in the past year...so ( Read more... )

it is decidedly heterosexual, actually cytaren November 23 2004, 15:58:57 UTC
And I think it was a lovely thing to do. We do this every year at Thanksgiving at my house, something that I always used to cherish, but have found myself dreading this year...(due to circumstances that, actually, you are aware of). I have not wqanted to be singled out as one of the things my family is "thankful" for and have not wanted to go through the rigamarole of the explanations and the tears. Perhaps I have grown callous which is so unlike me. I should be more comfortable with everyone being thankful that I am with them for the first time in 3 years and really well.

I appreciated your list and will now attempt to construct my own in my journal. (But it might have to wait until lunch time!) Thank you for your thoughts and sharing what you were thankful for. I really appreciated that this morning!

Thank you for reading them, good to know that someone actually made it through. I understand your concern, but know that your family only singles you out to so make sure that YOU know how much you are loved. ...never be callous in recieving love, it doesnt suit you.

I look forward to reading yours. have a happy thanksgiving my friend.

Now you've got me in the holiday spirit! I will make my own list although I fear it will turn out overly sarcastic. I will try to avoid that.

haha, sarcasm works too, you can always be thankful for a quick wit! but only if its funny sarcasm, stupid sarcasm just makes you look bad

Well being in Canada and rather far away from this Giving Thanks holiday that seems to be such a big deal down south, I am not quite in the same spirit that you are. But I like your list. I don't like the gay reference as I hate that saying with a passion. Erg. But...this is all to say that you have given me a great excuse to not do my homework yet and so I will be posting something akin to thankfulness in my journal shortly.

pardon the gay comment, its not so much a reference to a lifestyle, but I understand the annoyance.

I am glad I could provide such an excuse! yea for me!

I agree with the disapproval of the gay reference, but with the sad way it is used among people I hear it slip from people quite often mistakenly

okay okay, i said I was sorry! but really, i mean, even my gay friends use that term to describe things, i don't know that it is anything to get up in arms about, but i shall refrain from using it in future posts

geez, laugh and the world laughs with you, say 'gay' and you are all alone. =)
(or was it sneeze...i forget)
