I just want to say many thanks to everyone for their best wishes; it really is very kind of you all. Things have been quite strange here since last weekend. He'd been with us for the best part of ten years, and I keep expecting to hear him howling for something or other, or find him sitting on the bed in the morning. It's still hard to say how

It's hard to tell how much they know. They're used to Kuron being away in hospital for extended periods, and we were careful to keep them out of the bedroom after he died so they couldn't see him - which may or may not have been the right thing to do - so I don't know whether or not they even realise he's gone for good. We're keeping an eye on them both, just in case.
What they are both certainly missing is Kuron's food, which they both tucked into quite happily. Now there's only diet food and Kasia in particular isn't impressed.

Everyone seems to have been upset. We took him up to the vet's so he could be taken to the crematorium, and the nurse there was a bit teary too. But the card was very touching, it really was. The doctor didn't have to do that. I'm going to leave the NHS and have all my medical stuff taken care of at the RVC.

Oh, Hutch, I am so so sorry about Kuron. I just cried when I read of his passing, I had somehow missed it. Pets are our children, in some way, and no matter how many wonderful (and not so wonderful) years and memories we have of them, it is always hard to say goodbye.

The RVC sound like amazing people and I'm so glad that you got the card from his doctor.
