The knee is still not well. My GP says it should be pretty much healed by now, but it's still weak and sore and I still can't put a lot of weight on it, so he referred me to the orthopaedic clinic up at Barnet General. Hey, why all the paranoia about surgery? Surgery's great fun -- especially if you ask them to hold off the anaesthetics so you can watch it as it happens.

Yes, well, the prospect of knee surgery dwindles into insignificance compared to a bypass, of course, but I'm not interested in watching. If possible, I'd like to be rendered unconscious several days before the op and not woken up until the surgery's healed.
