Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!

On Friday I dropped a large can of Bush's Baked Beans on my big left toe.  Now, I have congenitally deformed toenails.  Both my grandmothers had very thick toenails that either form a "U" and trap flesh, or grow in the shape of a pyramid.  I have both as well, with my left toe being the worst.

So I cried and screamed and wailed for at least 1/2 hour.  Soaked it in Epson salt and that seemed to help.

When I work up Monday morning it was so deep purple it was almost black.  Called the podiatrist to make an appt.  Figured he'd give me some antibiotics and trim the nail, which is what he's done in the past when it gets real bad.

Nope, he removed the nail right then & there.  Oh shit, that damn needle going into my bone FRICKING HURT!

I ended up taking Tuesday off work to give me two days to rest it.  But the damn gauze keeps getting stuck to the toe!  I spent 2 1/2 hours yesterday working it off and SOB that hurt too!

And I'm sick of sleeping on the couch.  (Ron sleeps on my left side, so for safety, I've slept on the couch the last two nights.)

Onto great news!  My brother & SIL are expecting their 2nd baby in April.  My brother's birthday is today and their little girl (18 mos), presented him with a card that says "big sister in training".

Awww... what a great birthday gift!  Esp for a 42 year old! HAHAHA

But now my niece or nephew will be younger than my grandson!  How weird is that?
