Letter to the members of the Kansas school board

Here's a letter I sent to each of the members of the Kansas State Board of Education about their decision to force Intelligent Design into their science curriculum:

sigh, my sympathies go towards them as well. The conservative christians will jump on anything that might help them introduce creationism into the school system, and for awhile now it's this idea of intelligent design. as a disciple of science, i would just like to say intelligent design is not a product of religion, nor does it endorse any religious beliefs in itself. it is actually a legitimate area of interest for a large number of physicist and astrophysicists. as for myself, i am currently an evolution and ecology major at UC Davis, and i have to admit that after becoming disciplined in much chemistry and physics, ontop of emphasis studies in evolution, i have begun having doubts in my field of research. my passion for science comes from a passion for knowing the truth, so i will go where research points. Proper scientific research will give you the facts but also, not often known by the general public, proper research MUST provide you with as much information on the research process itself for the MAIN purpose of letting you ( ... )

ID isn't science... It's not a falsifiable hypothesis. It doesn't make predictions around which experiments can be designed.

This response is bullshit propaganda seeking to create the illusion that ID has some scientific validity.

There are gaps in our understanding of evolution, just as there are gaps in our understanding of gravity, time, quantum physics, subatomic particles, astrophysics, thermodynamics and even the periodic table. That's not to say that any legitimate scientists have "lost some trust" in any of those things as valid scientific theories.
