We Liberals Piss Me Off

Okay, so you can probably tell my heart's done its share of bleeding. It's bled on my shoes, my belt and my food. It's bled into a lot of what I've said and how I've voted in the past, and it certainly colors the music I really love. So I'm really speaking out of love for you crazy kool-aid-swigging zombies ( Read more... )

Haha, living in Southern California tends to make one get sick of overzealous liberals. I call them "neohippies" and they drive me insane.

How is LA treating you?

My first, second, third and every subsequent visit to a Trader Joe's out here have each inspired a new level of misanthropy I had previously thought I was incapable of.

Still, I keep going. One's fridge can only hold so much hippie food.

You don't eat meat just because you don't like it right? So, why Trader Joe's?

I used to work with this slightly obnoxious hippy-liberal who abhorred Starbucks, and would give me crap about it when I came to work with my signature green and white cup. She would never listen to me when I'd tell her that not only is Starbucks not a corporate nightmare (like Walmart), but actually a really good company. You mentioned that they "spawned" the look-alike shops that are now everywhere, but they also bring business to any area that a new store pops up in. The strip mall behind my apartment is the perfect example: there's been a Pure Fitness, a Blockbuster, a Mervyn's, and a Hallmark store in that area for years, but only until a Starbucks opened did Deer Valley Plaza really start hopping. Starbucks creates scores of new job opportunities with every store, and it's benefits for evey employee really can't be beat. I work full time at Mimis and I still don't have even close to the kind of benefits that Starbucks offers. Check out their website for more info ( ... )

"Anarchy is not a ... Okay, have fun with the anarchy. I like you kids and your black flags. Good luck with all of that."

Do you really know liberals who are also anarchists? The two are pretty polar opposite in my head.
