Repetition has always been my biggest complaint about the Colin and Brad shows, so it's nice to see that they're at least attempting to shake things up. Somewhat. Their version of Jeopardy sounds quite interesting. Also, very very confusing.
Was this show really short, or did the games just go on really long? I know there were more than five at the one I saw!
You just have to believe me that Jeopardy! is barely confusing at all when/if you actually see it done. Just like a lot of IDIOT Chat games!
I'm not sure if this show was any longer than the first show I saw (back in 2006), because I don't remember exactly how long the first one lasted. I know that it had seven games (not counting the final song) as well as an intermission, but I don't remember the games being particularly shorter. However! Since I recorded the second show, I can officially say that it was 90 minutes long (without intermission). On my cassette tape, the third show is about 18 minutes shy of 120 minutes, so I'll round it to 100 minutes.
Soooo my answer is I don't know. I guess it was average-length?
Upon checking my rudimentary non-audio record of the show, I see that my one and only Colin and Brad show, from way back in '05, consisted of nine games (not counting the ending song because this was apparently before they started that) - Moving Bodies, Double Dub (now that I think about it, that's essentially what their version of Jeopardy is!), the Dr. Seuss Game, New Choice, Interrogation, Sentences, Rap, Sound Effects, and Mousetraps. Somewhere between 90-100 minutes sounds about right for that, soooo....I guess they're just dragging out each individual game longer and longer as time goes on?
That seems to be the case. I'm also guessing that the My Way song took the place of the Rap, and it makes sense that a show with the Torture Game would have fewer games overall, since most of the games within it seem to run long enough on their own.
I hope they haven't stopped doing Sentences. I could understand if they have (they probably get a fair share of lame lines), but I'd say it deserves to stay as much as Sound Effects does.
When I saw five of the WL'ers perform back in May of 2004... (five years ago from yesterday, I think), they did Five Way Dubbing. Which was definitely confusing. If memory serves, they said that was the first time that was tried too.
