DRIVE with Nathan Fillion
In general I liked the 2-hour opener for DRIVE. I see what appear to be several similarities between DRIVE and LOST. This is not a bad thing by itself, as LOST has been quite successful overall. But it may not be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Michele Pennington, RIP

ConSonance 2007 - Chaos Sings
A while back here on the west coast the default style for a filksing was Bardic Circle. You go around the circle in order, everyone can pick, pass or play. In contrast, the other major style (more commonly found further east) was Chaos Sing. ConSonance 2007
I'm still tired, but recovering slowly. ConSonance can do that to a person.
Some things went well. There was good music, a bunch of neat people came to the con that I hadn't seen for a while, another bunch of neat people came to the con that I hadn't seen ever before.

Just one small jolt here
We felt the 8:40 PM main quake (4.2) as a single rather weak jolt here, didn't feel the aftershock 6 minutes later (2.6). Checked the USGS site and found that was typical for south San Jose since we're, oh, maybe 50 miles or so from the epicenter.

Around this time of year we always see plenty of "Go out and VOTE" statements. But I'm not going in that direction.
If there's only 50% turnout, it's like I get two votes.
If there's 33% turnout, it's like I get three votes.

Beloved cat "Puma", RIP
After a long decline of over half a year with multiple health problems, this last month things went more rapidly downhill. The vets did what they could, but we've known for a while that there was no hope of recovery. Today we knew it was time to say Goodbye. We had a wonderful decade together.
