For those of us who don't have the OB/GYN Journal handy, what are you talking about?

EC ='s emergency contraception. Taking high doses of hormonal contraceptives after unprotected male-female sex either a) inhibits / delays ovulation or b) prevents implantation of a fertilized egg. ='s no pregnancy. Wee! :P I thought it was very useful.

That was a long list; they're all EC's?

....and here I was thinking you were doing research because, errrr, you might need it....

The pills on the list are hormonal birth control pills, but if taken at the doses listed, they will perform as emergency contraception.

I read up on such topics because, someday, I might need it, my sister might need it, my girlfriends might need it, my guyfriends might need it.

I have a box of Plan B at home, for that reason. Not all pharamacies carry it.

There are even Jane networks where women will provide EC to other women in need, all coordinated via phone numbers and e-mail. I like the idea of women supporting women.

lol you would need to take 20 ovrette tablets? Holy crap.

I've only taken one of those pills on the list, so where are all the pills I've taken?

Ya, talk about an over-dose!

I've taken Alesse. EC is 45-55 dollars a pop. A pack of Alesse costs me $10 (with insurance). There are 2 doses of EC in one pack of Alesse. :P That's an awful lot of potential nausea to deal with. Much better to avoid unprotected intercourse. But, it's still much cheaper than Plan B. And, a bit of nausea is still much cheaper than birthing an infant or having an abortion.

And besides Alesse Plan B, and Seasonale, I'm unfamiliar with the other contraceptives on the list. I hope it's not outdated.
