Clonozepam to the rescue

Tomorrow, I hold the committee meeting that will end all other committee meetings.  At least I hope so.  I'm terribly, terribly nervous.  :(

I am bribing my committee with really expensive mango-orange juice.  Jana, bless her heart, is brewing coffee.

If I walk away, and pretend to not notice / hear, I feel as if I am appearing cowardly. I let them win.

What do you care about how you appear to them? In this situation, don't react at all; just keep walking to your car, as if they didn't exist.

I want to do something that will inhibit their desire to be assholes. I wonder if another strategy would be to go up to them, and talk gibberish, and jump up and down, and behave totally weird. We both get negative attention, and I would be ammused.

hmm...........

However, these were scary looking dudes, so that doesn't seem like a good plan, either.

You can't, other than ignore them. Giving them the attention they want will only encourage them. Just ignore them, walk by them as if they didn't exist.

I'm with Alban. Reacting to them - in any way - lets them win. Having them be below your notice lets you win.

Reminds me of training a dog....to not reinforce behavior through attention -- if that is what they seek.

I still want to do somethign that will make them stop being assholes.

If you want 4-5 children, I could help you get started.

There, now you have a reason to cry.
