I probably forgot to tell you...

I decided recently to follow this plan to get from wherever I am now to 100 pushups in 6 weeks. Only, I decided to go substitute "seconds of full plank" for pushups, so by the end of 6 weeks, I'll be able to do nearly 2 minutes of plank. Bearing in mind, when I started, I could do 15 seconds of plank, I can only do about 2 0 pushups in good form. And then *after* this 6 weeks, I'll probably do another 6 week program to get to the 100 actual pushups. (I'm supplementing this with handstand practice to build my upper body strength, the plank is doing more for my abs.) But for NOW, I'm focusing only on this 6 weeks period, and completing the reps assigned. It's a really minimal commitment, 3 days a week, 5 sets of reps, and they're very reasonable quantities. This week's assigned sets actually had a lot more rest time than actual work time.

I have wheedled revelgrove and autologik into doing this with me. revelgrove is doing the harder kind of plank (on the elbows), and autologik is doing regular pushups.

In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you that me and autologik and revelgrove are all extremely lazy. And we're all eventually going to be able to do 100 pushups. Wouldn't it be embarrassing for you if you were less fit than three of the laziest people anywhere? Join us. Join our cult. We may be insane, but we're going to have really good abs.
