Right now, I'm downloading the installer, since I figure that is easier that digging out the install CDs, given the amount of patching that has gone on since version 1.0. It's at 1.89 Gigabytes of 3.89 Gigs, and is promising another 12 hours of download tine.
I'm having no problems running wowclient-downloader.exe under Linux with Wine. Several web pages claim that it is possible to run WoW on Linux the days without major difficulties or extra software expense. I'm going to try that first, before going to the effort of installing Windows XP. This new computer which has never had windows on it, and I wish to keep it that way.
