Yep, it's that time again! Spoilers for the last two episodes (7x15 and 7x16) in particular, especially the latter, and for the entire series in general.
I'm really too sleepy to comment on all of this, even though I want to. I just wanted to say that
JACK/RENEE = AWESOME
and I'm also skeptical that Jack will die this season because 24 without Jack is just impossible to concieve. Also, the idea of Janis coming back next season makes me want to poke my eyes out. Larry isn't quite as much of a doofus as he was at the beginning, but Janis... argh. She's such a horrible actress I can't even watch her scenes sometimes.
Fair enough. I have to admit I'm pretty much neutral on the topic of Janis, but that's probably because recently all she's really done is relay plot information and it's hard to screw that up I think (though having said that, I can think of at least one other actor who screwed stuff like that up pretty consistently...).
I'm skeptical about Jack dying as well because I'm generally pretty cynical, I'm just impressed that this is the first season where I could almost believe the writers would do it. Up until now the threats to kill Jack off have always been incredibly lame!

Oh come on. You have to admit that her acting sucks. I remember this one particular scene where she was telling Sean that she thought Larry had feelings for Renee. He asked how she knew, and she said something like, "instinct. I just know" AND IT WAS SO BAD. She could have been reading off a cue card or something.
Not at all! I love those personal threats but the ones that really make me bounce are when it's all MASSIVE DESTRUCTION AHOY. And not from nuclear threats as yeah that's totally overdone. And that they have this virus and have given it to the MAIN CHARACTER is like so OMG. I can't even
( ... )
Fair enough on the Jack death thing, maybe I'm just a bit morbid. :P
The thing about immunity is, it's always conditional on them helping end the threat, right? So if they screw the government over (which, as you rightly point out, they always do) then all the immunity stuff has been for nil anyway. I'm wondering a bit what will happen with Greg though, I know that Larry said he believed Tony about him being set up but the difficulty is that he doesn't have any proof. Then again, Greg hasn't got a scratch on him - Tony really couldn't have 'threatened' him that hard!
Let's face it, a Jack/Renee assault on Starkwood would be AWESOME even if logically it made no sense considering that it's a military base and you'd expect security to be really friggin' high. But it's 24, logic isn't always required. :D
