Buffy was up and mobile almost as soon as she came to. There was a quick assessment to see what she had -- one stake, not a lot, but it'd have to be enough. She was a weapon all to herself, and that was what mattered. She made her way to the window, looking out to try and getting the feel of the place. This was not San Francisco, not by a long shot, but it was still green grass, blue skies, and oxygen in the air.

Oh, yeah -- and did we mention the monsters?

"Oh, goodie," she sighed as she went to head for the door. "Just what I always wanted."

She blew out of the room, which she briefly noticed looked a bit like a dorm, and made her way outside. There were monsters at the wall, and she was going to fight her way out if it was the last thing she did. Which, knowing her -- a very real possibility.

"Alright. Who's first?"

Buffy quickly shrugged off the hand on her shoulder, and barely glanced to the person standing next to her before responding. "Rushed into worse. This is pretty much my Tuesday."

Yeah, Buffy wasn't all that deterred. And while those things could probably tear her apart, at least she would go down swinging.

... She hadn't noticed that part. She slowed to a stop, watched for a moment, and then verbalized the most articulate response to that she could manage.

"Oh."

She then watched for a little while longer, before glancing back at him. "What is that? Magic?"

She glanced over at him with a skeptical look, before smirking. "You've got a monster stampede looking to beat down your door, and you're questioning the existence of magic?"

Magic was a pretty decent sized part of Buffy's every day life -- or it was, at least -- that she always forgot that most people didn't believe in it. But still -- when it's staring you in the face, it's kind of hard to deny it.

"What you do?" Because gee if that wasn't an interesting way to put it. She shook her head a bit, before turning to back to the wall and starting to inch her way around it. "Look, I've seen a lot of man-made monsters in my time? They don't come out like that. Those are the real deal."

There was a bit of an eyebrow raise at the news mention before she shook her head. She was never really much of a news gal. All they did was cover up what she knew was really going on anyway. But she shrugged it off when he dropped it and got back down to business.

Now really wasn't the time anyway.

"And in order to do that, we need to get past this barrier. Which means finding the power source."

She rolled her eyes. She couldn't help it. "I'm not an idiot. But wherever the power source is, or whatever the power source is, there might be a way to get a small squad around ... "

And then she watched as this guy snapped a monster's neck with the power of his mind. Not that she hadn't seen telekinesis before, but that was usual floaty Willow style things, not ... dangerous neck breaking things. "What was that? How did you do that?"

Buffy didn't question it, and didn't let him ask her twice. She followed right on his heels, seeing the recovery squad and catching on to what he was doing. Eventually she jogged ahead of him, tried to get the other men's attention.

"Hey! Army boys!"
