If you look at it as a graph, I'd say that everything gets better as you grow older (with a huge swell whenever you are old enough to drive in the state you live in), until when you hit 18 and become for every screw up you make. The increased freedom just isn't good enough for me to offset the risk of getting tax audited, imprisoned, blah blah blah.
