i'm talking about all the shit that's polluting the scene right now. like the trendy legions of metalcore bands that all sound the same, or the fake "nu-grind" or "mathcore" scene, etc. basically i'm refering to all the bands that sound the same and make metal look bad.

Yeah, that's basically what I meant.

The irony is that they're trying to make metal look "good." I liked the metalcore (Bloodjinn, Caliban) before it was metalXcore (As I Lay Dying) and the mathy/jazz shit back when it was about actually trying to incorporate abrasive music with jazz intricacies (Botch) as opposed to dissonant wankery (The Chariot, Norma Jean, um..a bunch of bands whose names can't think of right now).
