Summary: Donghae rejects Hyukjae's confession, but oh boy does he regret it.
A/N: First chaptered fic ^__^
Lee Hyukjae was just a normal 18 year old boy in high school, except for the fact that he had a majorly huge crush on the school’s heartthrob, Lee Donghae. After crushing on him for about 2 years, Hyukjae finally decided that it was time to confess. He figured since he had had a few random conversations with Donghae (but just about what the homework assignment was, or if he had an extra pen) he could confess. He knew that if Donghae rejected him, it wouldn’t be because he was a boy. Donghae had been persued by, and had even dated both boys and girls. Hyukjae’s heart would be in pain every time Donghae had someone new hanging off of his arm, so he was determined to have Donghae as his boyfriend.
‘This is it’ Hyukjae thought to himself as he approached Donghae’s locker.
“Hello Donghae-ssi!” Hyukjae said with his signature gummy smile plastered onto his face.
“Oh, Hyukjae-ssi?! Hello, is there something you need?” Donghae asked Hyukjae with a questioning look.
“Uhmm…I uhmm…I kind of want to tell you something…” Hyukjae said as his face began to turn red, like the color of his favorite fruit.
“Yes…?” Donghae waited for Hyukjae to continue.
“W-well, uhmm…I…” Hyukjae stuttered.
If Hyukjae had looked at Donghae, he would have noticed the other was growing impatient, but Hyukjae was only able to stare at the floor out of nervousness. Donghae was about to open his mouth to kindly ask Hyukjae to tell him what he needed to before they were both late for class, but was interrupted when Hyukjae suddenly sputtered “Ihavereallylikedyouforaverylongtimewillyoupleasegoonadatewithme?”
Hyukjae sighed in relief after saying what he needed to, but then got nervous again when Donghae said,
“Wait, what did you say? Can you please speak slower? I couldn’t understand you.”
And Hyukjae couldn’t tell for sure, but it sounded like Donghae had a tone of annoyance when speaking with him.
“I said, that I have really liked you for a very long time. Will you please go on a date with me?”
He had finally confessed, but he was unable to look Donghae in the eyes as he anxiously waited for the other’s response.
“…”
“…”
“I’m sorry Hyukjae…” and that was all it took before Hyukjae started to tear up, but he wanted to know Donghae’s reason so he did not immediately turn away.
“…but I like a guy with confidence, which it seems like you don’t have, since you can’t even look me in the eyes…” Hyukjae just kept his head faceing the floor as Donghae continued.
“…and I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve sorta been into “bad-boys” recently, and you deffinatly are not one, so I’m sorry, but you’re not my type.”
Once Donghae had finished Hyukjae quietly said, “It’s okay” as he walked away. Unknown to Donghae, Hyukjae was on his way to the bathroom to cry his eyes out.

“Was that another confession rejection I just witnessed hyung?”
Donghae looked to the source of the voice. “Oh hey Kyu, yup, Lee Hyukjae just confessed to me. Weird right? I barely even knew that boy existed.”
“So you don’t feel bad about this one either, eh hyung?”
“Nahh, no need to. I don’t even know why he thought he had a chance.” Donghae replied with a smirk.
Donghae's best friend Kyuhyun just sighed as he shook him head mumbling, "Some day that boy will regret one of his rejections."
He then left Donghae to head to his class as the latter went to his own.

Sungmin was walking to his classroom when he decided to check his appearance in the bathroom mirror real quick. He was after all the school's cute prince, and he needed to make sure he looked good at all times. As he was fixing his hair he could have sworn he heard quiet sobbing coming from one of the stalls. He softly knocks on the stall door, and it gently opens.
"I'm sorry, i didn't realize the door wasn't locked...Hyukjae? Is that you?"
Sungmin saw his best friend Hyukjae crying.
"What's wrong Hyuk? Why are you crying...?" Sungmin was worried.
"I-I...I confessed to Donghae...a-and he r-rejected m-me." Hyukjae sobbed as he grabbed onto Sungmin.
Sungmin immediately hugged his friend back asking, “Why didn’t you tell me you were going to confess? Maybe i could have helped you...or I don't know...”
Without answering Sungmin's question, Hyukjae quickly lifted his head up.
"Min, I need your help, desperately. Please, promise me you will help me?”
Sungmin wasn't sure what Hyukjae wanted, but he had always promised himself to be there for a friend when they needed him.
“Sure Hyukjae, you’re my best friend, of course I will help you.”
