1x06 - L.D.S.K. Never fails to put me in a good mood, from Hotch blatantly showing off (pulling your backup just to prove you're as good a shot with that one as you are with your primary? Oh, *Hotch* :-D) to Hotch handing Reid his backup.

The brief 'Physics Magic' interlude comes in as a close second, BTW. :-D

What terms of endearment do you think they use in private?

For me, the only one I can imagine they use is 'baby,' and it's mostly used in the bedroom. XD

I guess I'm not much of an endearment-person, but... Maybe honey? I like honey. Not as infantilizing as baby. But I'm not sure I can see them using endearments as anything other than for fun.

In my head, calling him Aaron rather than Hotch is very personal. I think Aaron would use more nicknames since he seems rather sentimental.

Babe over baby, but I don't really see either of them using either of those terms.

Hotch did use "sweetheart" in canon (to Garcia in "Blood Hungry"), so it's possible he could use it again, and variations of it. (Sweetie, Sweetcheeks, Sweetness, etc. Also as a mild allusion to the sweetened coffee that Reid guzzles on a regular basis.)

Did he ever refer to Haley as "honey"? I can totally get into Hotch using "honey" as well.

Having a harder time trying to think of anything that Spencer would say. I think I'm gonna agree with rebak1tten about Reid using Aaron over Hotch (separating the personal from the professional). Maybe once in a blue moon or something, he might slip in a "my love" or "my dear". Maybe while reciting sonnets or other old, obscure literary works, or during a romantic occasion.

So... Here's a question that's been coming back to me every time I watch Elephant's memory; why *does* Hotch know the Marine Corps' birthday?

My pet theory at the moment is that he's got a memory for numbers that rivals Reid's memory for the written word, but... What do you think?

I always thought Hotch's father maybe wasn't too different from Owen's father, that's how he knew. I prefer the Natural Born Killer implication of Hotch's dad over the ones in The Tribe and Ashes and Dust (seriously what was up with those three different Dads?)

What did you think? I was pretty happy with it, nice to not have any of our team dead. Sorry about Prentiss leaving, but good for her and able to do a guest appearance as she's still in a job where they might run into each other.
